• Nazareth ISD Bond Election 2024 Information

    The Nazareth ISD Board of Trustees has called for a $2.15 million Bond Election to be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

     

    The objective of the proposed bond proposition is to fund instructional facilities construction, renovations, repairs, and upgrades.  The 2024 Bond Proposal is comprised of one proposition:

    • Proposition A ($2.15 million): focuses on school facilities covering construction, facility repairs and improvements, and capital projects. It would include building a new science lab, the renovation/conversion of the current science lab into two classrooms, and other capital projects. Additionally, funds may be allocated for safety enhancements, facility updates, and procurement of equipment for classrooms.

    • What projects were financed with the previous bond? 
      • Cafeteria, stage, and classroom renovations, a new roof on the main building, an ag shop addition, exterior doors, carpeting, tile, painting, HVAC system replacement, and gas line replacement.

     

    • Will my tax rate increase from previous year if the bond propositions pass? 
      • No, we do not anticipate a tax rate increase.  The future tax rate will depend on future property values in the District.
      • Texas law requires the ballot to include the statement 'this is a property tax increase' on the ballots for proposition A.

      • The NISD Bond Election will be held in conjunction with the November General Election

    OTHER CAPITAL PROJECTS PLANNED IN CONJUNCTION WITH BOND PROPOSITION A

    • The district is planning other construction projects that would be paid for from fund balance. 
      • Construction of a new field house for the boys’ physical education program. 
        • Would be used for football, baseball, tennis, track & field, and off-season
        • We would keep the old field house (circa 1985) for an extra dressing room & storage.
      • Remove the barracks dressing room (circa 1970s) on the back of the Quonset Gym and build new dressing rooms for the girls’ physical education program. 
        • Would be used for junior high athletics, high school tennis, track & field, and off-season
        • The Quonset Gym (w/ dressing rooms) is also used for the annual basketball tournament.
