So close!

For those of you with sharp eye or a quick browser you probably noticed our home page came and went in a hurry. There were a few problems implementing the site-wide design so it's back to the drawing board for now. But stay tuned and more changes will come.

New site Posting Requirements, or, What You'll Find When We're Done Redesigning.

1. Employment opportunities (Texas Education Code §11.163)
2. Policies regarding (Texas Education Code §28.004)
   • Physical activity (if they have a policy) for elementary, middle and junior high students
   • Number of times the school health advisory council has met
   • Information on whether the district has adopted and enforces policies regarding vending machines
   • Information on whether the district has adopted and enforces policies that prescribe penalties for the use of tobacco products.
3. Electronic course information (if they offer them), along with other posting requirements related to the program (Texas Education Code §29.909)
4. Campus Report Card (Texas Education Code §39.252)
5. District Performance Report (Texas Education Code §39.252)
6. Accountability rating of district, including a definition of each rating (Texas Education Code §39.252)
7. Proposed district budget (Texas Education Code §44.0041)
8. Post notice of meetings (Government Code § 551.056)
9. Gross Payroll amount for the year
10. Conflict of Interest statements and questionnaires [Local Government Code § 176.009.(a)]
11. If a district publishes its check registers, it should be updated at least quarterly, and the register should include:
    • Name of Payee
    • Transaction Amount
    • Check Number
    • Date of the Check
    • Purpose or Function Number
12. Test Administration Dates including PSAT, ACT, and other college advanced placement tests for home schooled students information. (HB 1844)
13. Post in English and Spanish required immunizations and vaccines required or recommended by the Texas Department of State Health Services and health clinics in the district that offer influenza vaccine.
14. Notice of maintenance and operations (M&O) tax rates [Texas Education Code § 26.05 (b)]
15. Employment policies [Texas Education Code § 21.204 (d)]
16. Landowners Bill of Rights (Texas Proposition Code § 21.0112)
17. Group health benefits for school employees not participating in TRS-Active Care.
18. Reporting electricity, water and natural gas consumption [Texas Government Code § 2264.001(b)]

Wouldn't it be keen to know how many times our web site has been viewed? And wouldn't it be neat if stats like that were broken down into things like individual pages and web vs. LAN accesses? Well, guess what: I've done just that.... instead of processing the server logs (which can be done too, of course) I've moved all that stuff into a database.
