Our offices are just inside and on the right of any of the double doors on the front of the school: Elementary is on the left, HS is in the middle and Administration is on the right.

Links to TEA rankings and stuff go here at some point. (As if we need to brag.)

You can go straight to MapQuest.com and get driving directions, adverts and other map-related info. Or...

A pseudo-map of where we are.

Do you Google? Well, then, download our Google Earth 'Placemark' and see what we look like from wayyyyyyy up in the sky. Dig those crop circles! But if you want instant gratification, without the cool satellite mapping, try looking at Google's online map of us.

Or, follow our "can't miss!" directions.... :-)

Nazareth school district is in the city of Nazareth, a small, mostly farming community of around 350 souls. The town itself is on the intersections of FM 168 and Highway 86, roughly halfway between the towns of Dimmitt and Tulia. The nearest 'big cities' are Lubbock, about 65 miles to the south and Amarillo, about 55 miles to the north. Once you've been out here and seen the spectacular sunrises, sunsets and the miles upon miles of wide open spaces, you'll never forget it.

Our pep rally schedule:
  • Well, we kinda-sorta had a "short" schedule but not really anymore...

Way back in the days of yore, when the first settlers came to this area, they saw small foxes roaming the plains. The foxes were small and FAST, capable of running up to 35mph (~50kph)! So naturally, they named the speedy little foxes "swifts."

The Class of 2002 gave this stuffed Swift to the school; it's on display in the new gym trophy case

Swifts weren't considered a livestock threat and weren't hunted like coyotes, but their population dwindled in this area anyway due to farming and loss of habitat. However, they are not extinct and do thrive in open prairies north of here. And once in a blue moon you may just see one tearing across the fields near here, too.

There's an excellent article on Swifts by a Canadian naturalist, Ray Rasmussen. You can read his article about Swift Foxes here, saved on our server locally by permission.

The WWF (World Wildlife Fund) has excellent information about the Swift and its habitat, along with some keen photos. Check out their detailed Swift Fox information.
